Oral thrush-helppp

I think I’ve caught baby and I in early stages of oral thrush. After seeing so many negative experiences with nystatin, I’m really hesitant to use it on her, Especially with a baby with tummy discomfort already. The doc even said she would advise to wait and see except for the fact that I’m having some burning/stinging. I’m waiting on a call back from my OB regarding my own treatment. Anyone go through this and it go away on its own? Or what did you use? Good/bad nystatin experiences? Coconut oil? Any insight is much appreciated.

We used nystatin, she didn’t seem to have any issues. It actually helped me too! Since I bf. My doctor prescribed me an ointment for myself which didn’t help. Now I can’t bf and I’m waiting on something else.

I’ve never had a baby with oral thrush, but I had it BAD in my first pregnancy, and Nyastatin was a LIFESAVER! It took my oral thrush away within about 2-3 days! And after literally just 1 use it was already disappearing. 10/10 recommend for yourself, but like I said I’ve never had to use it on a baby!

I used nystan for a full week just using the syringe and yesterday my health visitor prescribed me a second round of nystan for another week however, she said use a clean wash finger around the baby mouth. I did that and I’ve woken up today and her month is almost completely cleared up just from me using my finger to spead the medicine
