I went to the doctors for another issue and came back having been told she thinks I have endometriosis?! Please could people share their symptoms with me and how did you know you had it? I'm feeling very confused 😕

I have Endo and PCOS, Extremely painful periods, heavy bleeding, skip cycles, extreme fatigue and bloating around expected cycles and ovulation, painful sex, cramps on and off between periods

I was having painful periods and cramping really bad

My experience is terrible periods They felt worse than my laborers. And I am constantly cramping It doesn't end. Sometimes I won't ovulate and I'll swell up. I also pass out a lot it makes a person very sleepy. I also get very sick and nauseous.

Symptoms I had: digestive issues (bloating, loose poo then can’t poop), pain through whole cycle, fatigue, painful sex, pain peeing, increasing paining during period, pain walking. For me the pain started mild for around 10 years then increased to needing to be off work, mostly bed-bound, on crutches and opiates. Endo for me did not show up on ultrasound but did on MRI. Clear scans are not signs of a lack of disease. Good news is that once I saw an Endometriosis specialist and had an operation (4hrs at UCH, London) I am pretty symptom free! That’s been over 15 years now, so there’s hope. Good luck - I hope you get the support you need wherever this is. 💗

I went to the GP in 2022 with painful cramps, nausea and pelvic pain particularly after exercise and sex. It hadn't occured to me it could be endo but after being asked lots of questions about my cycle and joining the dots, ruling out other things with blood tests, ultrasounds etc, he quickly came to the conclusion it was likely endometriosis. The symptoms started a few months after I went hormone free for the first time (been on the pill since age 15) and after tracking it all using natural cycles it became clear I only had 2 brief pain free stages during my cycle (one after my period and one just before). So roughly 20 days of pain in a typical 29 day cycle. I had the mirena coil fitted about 8 months ago and it has helped my symptoms enormously. x
