Distracted when feeding

Ok I am starting to loose my mind here! My 13 week old gets so distracted when I try to feed him! (EBF) He would rather play and look around! I feel so full! So I have to keep pumping! (Which is sooo long!) Anyone else going through something similar? Any suggestions ?🫠🫠🫠

I'm having this issue i wish I had a solution I feel like I'm going a little mad she's on and off so much my poor boobs dunno what is happening

Yep! We now feed in a dark room when she's too curious, while playing white noise. Worst case scenario, feeding while lying down. Sometimes I'll rock her to white noise beforehand to calm her down.

I have to trick mine by giving her my little finger until she has a good solid suck (I think if you hold it gently to the roof of their mouth, the sucking is a reflex), then quickly swap in the boob - that keeps her on for quite a while.

Sometimes feeding standing up helps us with this !

As others have said try feeding somewhere boring, but also remember they don't necessarily need to feed as frequently. Is baby showing signs of needing a feed or are you working off the same timings which worked before? Could be that they aren't hungry - when mine is messing around it's because she isn't hungry so I stop offering and wait for hunger cues

@Lisa Ann the struggle is real! Hope this ends soon! I’m just worried for my milk supply!

@Rori the lying down doesn’t always work for us! Haha he starts smiling at me and coo-ing. But I’ll try a dark room! Thank you x

@Katherine oooo! Thank you for the tip! I’ll definitely try it out x

@Alana thank you!!! Will definitely try this out x

@Fiona yess. He shows his hunger cues and then starts drinking and gets distracted lol I’m really worried about my milk supply

About 12 weeks they start getting nosy and also much more efficient at feeding. My baby now takes around 3 to 5 mins to feed where as before she could hang out at the boob for a good 45 mins 🤣 as long as they're still having plenty of wet and dirty nappies it should be fine 🙂
