I tend to do 22 minutes on average. I don’t time it, that’s just when my LO tends to nod off. My LC told me that most babies get most of their meal in the first 10 minutes. Yet, some babies like to leisurely eat and take their time. You could always do a weighted feed and weigh before, 15 minutes and at the 30 minute mark to see if there is a reasonable amount of difference between the 15 and 30 minute mark.
Usually til he drifts off🤷🏽♀️ we don’t really time it. I’m a SAHM so if I can avoid stressing around timing for nursing I try to. Too much stress is awful for your supply
He eats 10-20 minutes. Usually at night it’s 10 minutes and daytime is around 20 but it’s a huge ish. Most of the time he won’t even switch sides for me so I wouldn’t bother watching the clock the entire time. Just mark when he starts and finishes and see how long he actually wants to eat for. I’ve found if he pulls off a lot towards the end he either needs to burp or he’s just done eating. When he falls asleep nursing he likes to comfort nurse for a few minutes before I take him off and put him to bed. Go off of what your baby is telling you. The 30 minute thing is just a rough estimate to give moms something to go off of but it’s not concrete.
I let my baby nurse until she's done (be ready to be jealous) which is usually less than 10 minutes. Honestly, our average nursing session is usually less than five 🤷 The total in a 24hr period is about an hour of nursing. Her brother was similar, and she's growing fine so I'm pretty sure it's okay 🤷 Every baby is different
My daughter feeds about 15-20 mins total but every once in a while she'll take her time and go 30+ mins She spits up sometimes but I just try my best to sit her up as soon as she's done eating even if she's asleep 🤣
Dude mine usually feeds for at least 25-30 minutes as well! He’s just a slow eater
It is totally dependent on the baby. My older daughter would eat anywhere from 15 to45 minutes. This time around my baby is efficient and eats in under 10, and still spits up plenty. They know when they’re done.
