Can anyone tell me if this is normal for a 4 week old? or is this looking like an umbilical hernia? I haven’t talked about it with her doctor just yet, just want to get other opinions first

Looks like umbilical hernia

Umbilical hernia. Mine has the same thing. Her pediatrician said if you can push it in and it doesn't cause her any pain, it's no issue and should go away by the time she is 2. I'm sure your pediatrician will see it and discuss with you your next appointment.

Umbilical hernia… my oldest had one I was told to leave it and it should correct by age 5 if it doesn’t correct at age 5 then it would need to be looked at to possibly be surgically corrected

Def an umbilical hernia. My boy has one too.

Same my daughter has one I do use a hernia belt that i bought from Amazon though but yes my pediatrician said the same thing it should go away on its own if it causes no pain when pushed down

@Kimberly has the belt helped? Considering getting one for my girl

yes my daughter has one! it’s really nothing to worry about! they usually go away by age 2.

@Sia yes it doesn’t bulge out as much anymore the one I bought comes with 3 different phases.

So yes, umbilical hernia but if you’re not able to press it in or like if it causes your baby, any pain, you need to get that checked out ASAP to make sure that there is no cut off of blood circulation

@Sia i just used a bandaid an my daughters is vertically gone

I’ve heard using a quarter or nickel and putting a bandaid could help correct it

But if it causes pain definitely go to a dr

The hospital does recommend. It might be infected, or it is healing.
