Moving to Berkhamstead

Hello hello! I am expecting and moving to the area. Sligthtly overwhelmed by all the conflicting ratings etc of hospitals nearby. Does anyone have any insights on the best maternity wards locally? Xxx

I had an elective c-section at Watford General Hospital and honestly, the best experience. Staff was AMAZING 🫶🏻

Yet to have baby and I’m under Watford maternity care at Hemel hospital for scans and blood tests are amazing have midwife app in gossam ends and midwife is fab. Had to go to triage the forth day at Watford and they were fab can’t fault the experience xx

Thank you!!!!

I had my first at Watford and my second at Stoke Mandeville and would personally choose Stoke 😊

I used stoke mandeville, lovely hospital

I had an amazing experience at Watford

If it’s helpful, we cover lots of this in our antenatal courses at The Village Midwife - local midwife Aimee runs them in Berkhamsted who’s lovely!

Hey Emma, huge congratulations and welcome to the area. I would highly recommend visiting both yourself and checking out their virtual tours to see what you personally find the best to suit you ❤️ it can get very overwhelming knowing what is best on the basis of other people’s experiences as its all very personal! Each trust has an MNVP (Maternal Neonatal Voices Partnership) that is run voluntarily by caregivers that work in maternity services (doulas, antenatal teachers, etc) and they support the trusts via feedback from the service users. Their social feeds are pretty good and helpful to gage what improvements they are making to support their service users ❤️ @weathertsmnvp @bucksmnvp Hope this helps 🥰 xx
