Hot shot method! For a 150ml bottle, I do: 1)I boil my kettle to 70° 2) Pour 150ml into the bottle, then pour 100ml (2/3rds) into my Nuby Rapid Cool 3) Whilst that’s cooling, I measure 5 scoops of formula into the bottle where the remaining 50ml of kettle water is and give it a good mix 4) After 2 mins, pour the water from the Nuby Rapid Cool back into my bottle and mix it all together- it’s almost always perfect room temp! You need the water to be hot enough to kill the bacteria in the formula, however, waiting for a kettle to cool right down is definitely not practical and very tine consuming when you’ve got a screaming baby. Pouring straight from the kettle isn’t advised as its so hot but it won’t harm your baby but the best advice I’d give is to get a kettle that allows you to choose how hot you want it- super easy to boil to 70° then and saves you waiting X

It depends which milk you’re using? I know a couple of the allergy milks need room temp water as 70 degrees water will kill the good bacteria and probiotics in them. Follow the instructions on your tin x

Always go by what the tin says as it can be different for different formulas, some may need boiling water (at least 70 degrees) to kill bacteria and some only need room temp water (as boiling water can kill the good bacteria in it)

Are you using nutramigen? If so it’s really easy to prepare. Boil the kettle, let it cool then fill your bottles and leave on the kitchen counter. Add powder to the cool water as you need it, the cool boiled water will be ok to use for 24 hours. I do a batch of water in bottles in the morning and evening so I always have some ready x

@Shenel thank you yeah that’s the milk we have. Only got it today. First few I made with hot water without know.

I hope it works for your little one. It’s such an easy one to prep, especially when you’re out. You do need to do a vigorous shake to make sure it’s fully dissolved x

Yeah like Shenel said, nutramigen has to be made with cool water. When my girl was on it I did the same as her. It takes some getting used to because it just feels wrong after everything we’re told about formula 😅
