I feel like a terrible mom

Baby fell off the bed. Well mattress. We sleep on a thick mattress on the floor I put her in the middle of the bed and went to go show my husband something in the living room when I heard a thump and crying. She was so upset I started to cry too. She was able to calm down and is completely fine now like nothing happened so she’s okay. But she has a little red mark on her forehead and I just can’t stop looking at it feeling terrible…

No please don’t feel bad she only rolled over from the mattress onto the floor. I didn’t realise my baby could stand up and pull himself over the cot at only 5 MONTHS my gosh I was washing dishes he was napping and apparently he’d woken up not called me and then I hear a loud BANG and then a wahhhhhhhh I rush in and this 5m old baby is on the floor 🤦🏻‍♀️😂 somehow he pulled himself up and over the cot bars. Needless to say I put the cot down that very day. Babies fall. Shit happens, don’t feel bad! And yours was more of a “rollover” than a true fall like my baby 🤦🏻‍♀️ he was fine though.

Girl I’ll make you feel better because my baby fell off my bed TWICE once before she was a year 💀 and it’s like a 4 foot drop almost. She went to the hospital the first time and was fine the second time. She also climbed out of her crib and landed face first (another 3 foot drop) and had to go to the hospital AGAIN. Terrible omg

@Melanie I guess babies are tougher than we we think

@Kellie I’m glad he’s okay 🩷

Please don’t be too harsh on yourself. My husband was looking after our baby (3weeks old at tge time) in the living room the other day when I was taking a shower. Somehow smoke came out of one the ceiling light bulbs and husband rushed to turn the switch off. In that split second he heard a loud thump and turned to find that baby had rolled down from the couch onto the floor. He felt so horrible he almost had tears in his eyes. We took our baby to the GP and she was completely fine. We were told that we’d only need to worry if she was unconscious or not crying out loud at all. Doctor also said babies fall from couches and beds more often than expected. (I just saw one few days ago that fell from the bed, she said) Sure, we should be more careful but there’s no need to beat ourselves up for what’s already happened. We are both lucky that our babies didn’t fall from a higher place and have now learned to be more careful with where we place them :) Hope this makes you feel better ❤️

Don’t feel bad, that’s only half the height everyone else’s babies have fallen from!! 😆 it happens to most of us unfortunately and it does suck and make you feel terrible but don’t be hard on yourself 🩷

❤ people get hurt every now and then... babies included !
