I had a similar experience, mine was swabbed and I needed flucloxacillin, I finished the course and it was still open, sore and weeping but they reswabbed and there was no infection so the antibiotics had worked. It took about a week after the antibiotics for it to seem to clear up x
@Sophie I was on Amoxicillin for a week, they swabbed then put me on flucloxacollin for two weeks. 😩
@Megan Owh! I have me 6 week check in a couple of days so I’ll ask them to reswab it! Thank you
@Lucy they also told me to stick a clean sanitary pad inside my underwear so it could absorb any moisture from the wound which also seemed to help, fingers crossed it clears up for you or you get the antibiotics you need! X
@Sophie this was exactly the same as me. Fluckoxacillin did nothing but the co-amoxiclav was great and I felt better within two days
I am 8 month pp I had a really bad infection wasn't to bad at first then started weeping went to Dr's sed it was fine on antibiotics didn't do much went bk nothing they swabbed found a small infection used creams then it started bleeding n green went bk n it was badly infected had to take very strong antibiotics it's fine now I used the sticky dressings they helped a lot when it was still open you will get there it does take time x
Have they taken a swab yet? I was on flucoxicillin twice before they swabbed it and turns out I needed co amoxiclav instead
