No contraception - anyone else?

Has anyone else not gone back on the pill, implant, coil etc. after having their baby? Just tracking their cycle? I’m really debating about whether to come off the pill because, it’s just messing with my mental health and libido. Is this working for anyone else? Have you been successful? My OH would obviously be using his own protection.

I haven’t I came off completely about a year before getting pregnant and was a different person, managed to get off antidepressants so don’t want to go back on them

@Lana you haven’t gone back onto contraception? I feel exactly the same way, I was a completely different person when trying for baby and wasn’t on the pill, would love to avoid it going forward x

Yep, I refuse to go back on it. I felt so low all the time. My partner doesn't want anymore children, but I am not going back to the shell of a person I was before trying to conceive x

Nope just condoms hubby agrees I’m a different person off it

@Kat same

Really against hormonal contraception. It alters our personality, libido, everything. I have always tracked my ovulation and in 9 years with my husband only got pregnant that one time we wanted to 😀🙌🏼🙌🏼 As long as woman's cycle is predictable, it is near impossible to get pregnant unless there is sperm present during ovulation.

@Gabi that’s really handy to know thank you. I am regular like clockwork, always have been. I completely agree it changes your mood completely. I hate it! I hate the person I am when taking it x

I’m breastfeeding so decided against going on anything. My hormones were enough without pumping more into my body. Just my personal opinion. X

i just cycle track - harder because i'm breastfeeding and only just got my period, but opportunities for sex are few and far between anyway because we're co sleeping😅 i was on the pill years ago and felt it really messed up my mental health so won't be going back on it

Yeah I haven’t gone back on contraception since giving birth and I just track my cycle, couldn’t think of anything worse than going back onto any hormonal contraceptives

We are just using condoms I refuse to go back on anything x

@keisha hahaha completely agree, we’re the same, between co sleeping and now 2 kids instead of 1 the opportunities are far and few between lol x

Wow really interesting to hear your feedback, thanks girls! I didn’t realise so many people were doing it! I really don’t want another but I can’t bear the pill anymore x

literally exactly the same situation here🤣🤣

I asked to have a coil but they couldn’t fit it at the appointment so I just decided I wouldn’t bother and we’d use condoms. To be fair to my husband he is willing to be referred for a vasectomy as our family is complete and I know he will attend all the follow ups etc,

My October 2024 baby is my second and hubby us now had a vasectomy but after my first baby in august 2022 I didn’t go back on contraception as my body was so much better without it and my periods were regular and so was my mood etc. I always hated contraception and I’m so glad I no longer need to take anything as it really messed me up
