It doesn’t happen to everyone. I wasn’t sick, I didn’t even feel sick. I did however get the shakes but honestly think about when you’re really cold that’s all it feels like it’s not scary in any way. It’s completely normal! 🩷 is there anything in particular that you’re worried about? Xx

they can give you nausea meds (i did get sick before my c-section not during but i was also on magnesium and pitocin prior to it so idk if those were factors, they gave me nausea meds and i felt fine during and after!) and the shakes can happen, if the shakes do the anesthesiologist told me to bite my tongue and it helped idk why but it did! ^ and yeah the shakes felt like being cold!

Mine was a breeze. I was freaked out beforehand cus it wasn’t planned. But no pain during and was off pain meds in 3 days. Hoping for c section for baby 2🤞

No sick or shakes for me. Easy recovery.

3 sections and never had the shakes. I felt sick during one, but said and was giving some meds immediately that stopped it straight away.

I really don't wanna scare you. I had uncontrolable shakes during my c section and the anesthesiologist told me that its normal thats im not the first one. I honeslty didnt feel a thing. They asked me if i felt something i said was i suppost to? He said were good to start. I had a good experience in my opinion. I had 45 minutes to prepare myself for it and i think it was better like that or else i wouldve over think a hole lot! Your gonna be okay mama! You got this❤️

I got shakes really bad after my first one but it was an emergency after 5 days of labor, didn’t have shakes at all with my second planned section. I got nauseous with my second one but they did whatever magic they needed to with the blood pressure meds as soon as I said something and it went away immediately! Not sick at all with my first

It didn’t happen to me either. I gave birth and then 2 minutes later my sister walked into my delivery room and she’s like “you don’t even look like you just gave birth” 😂

I feel a bit sick and shaking but not too bad. They will tell you it's normal. Not planned but not a bad experience. I would also opt for the c section next time

I didn't get sick or the shakes, but I was cold during and got really hot afterwards, they brought me a fan 😂😂

I had nausea during the C-section but the anaesthesiologist is up by your head the whole time and everytime I told him I was starting to feed sick he checked my obs and put medication through my cannula to control the nausea, I was never physically sick and it passed everytime he gave the medication. In terms of the shakes, after baby was out, I had really uncontrollable shakes but it wasn’t scary or even something that bothered me at all whilst in there. It was just like when you’re cold and you shiver, apparently it’s a side effect of the anaesthesia. I was TERRIFIED for my C-section but everyone in there is so supportive and any symptom you get, they quickly combat it for you, you’re in and out before you know it. Good look! Xx

I wasn't sick with my c section only when I was in natural labour. I did get shakes after but I was freezing so I don't know if it was the cold or the epidural but wasn't bad either way x

Got nauseous but didn’t throw up, got given medicine and it went away straight away. No shakes :) super positive experience

I got the shakes in the beginning. I was numb from neck down so I don't know if I still had the shakes during, but they were gone by the time it was done and I was back in my room. I did get a few seconds of nausea and they gave me something and I didn't feel it again.

I never had the shakes, but I did throw up the entire time until my anesthesiologist felt so bad that he finally gave me propofol after the nausea meds didn't work.

I was terrified of being sick or throwing up because I had been my sick my whole pregnancy so I told the anesthesiologist and he gave me something and I wasn’t nauseous at all. Honestly I can’t even remember if I had the shakes, I think it did a little bit, but didn’t last long or affect me holding my baby.

No sick or shakes but I was sooo swollen!! I couldn’t even wear shoes leaving the hospital because my pregnancy slippers didn’t even fit. Pain was manageable with taking meds on time and swelling was gone after a week.

I wasn’t sick but i did have the shakes, I found it funny at the time actually and i just kept apologising (don’t know why cause i couldn’t help it ahah)

No sickness for me but I am prone to shaking after anaesthetic anyway so it wasn’t uncomfortable or anything like that, just a bit jiggly for that first cuddle 😂

I didn’t ☺️

I never get sick, but I've had the shakes every time. So frustrating. Otherwise, I've always had a good experience for scheduled ones.

Category 1 emergency c section, had to be put under general anaesthetic but wasn’t sick and didn’t shake. X

How long do the shakes last???

I've had just during the surgery - my first was an emergency so the surgery was about 35 minutes, not very long. My second was a scheduled, lasted about 50 minutes. My third though, it was 2 hours and i had them the entire time 🙃 The baby comes out and im shaking uncontrollably and they're like "do you want to hold the baby?" 😅 Hmmm, maybe give him to daddy and he can hold him to my face, otherwise I'm breaking the first rule of parenting 🫣😂 Please be aware though, not everyone gets the shakes. Unfortunately, it just seems to be how my body reacts to the anesthetic. It's frustrating, but it's what my body does. You might not experience this at all.

I didn’t get sick, and I felt a little cold/shaky, but nothing extreme. Just felt like I’d walked out into cold weather without a jacket for a few minutes type of shake.

I’ve had two caesareans, wasn’t sick in either. Got the shakes during number 1 but the anaesthetist spotted in straight away and adjusted the meds which stopped it in a minute or so. Both of my experiences were lovely and calm despite me being a big chicken xx

I didn't have either

No shakes. I was sick but not during the C-section, this was after I started eating food after the procedure. It was on and off sickness for the first 24 hours then disappeared- I don't think my body reacts well to the meds.

I had one nearly 2 weeks ago. I didn’t feel sick or get the shakes. Don’t be scared! I was shitting myself but it went really quick, well it felt like it anyway. You got this 💕

I didn't throw up till after but its possible its unrelated to the c section. I did get the shakes really bad. They continued for weeks after surgery for me.

I didn't have any sickness or shakes. Good luck 💓

mine were from when she upped my epidural all the way through the surgery and they pretty much went as soon as baby was with me (might’ve still been there but I was distracted by then!)

I had a planned c section and the morning of the procedure while waiting in the hospital i was already shaking. During the procedure it got a bit worse and then it took me awhile to stop after - as the anesthesia was wearing off my legs were shaking like crazy too.. i also felt a bit nauseous during but the anesthesiologist told me to tell him as soon as i would feel a bit of nausea and he helped me and would get better right away (it happened twice).

My c-section was really peaceful. However I do remember vomitting when I was taken to the ward but honestly it just happened and I got on with it like it never did 😂 I think the drugs make you a little forgetful

I have had 3 c section emergency after 36 hrs of labour 2 second one laboured for 14 hr and decided for a section and my 3rd was planned . All 3 of mine you get the shakes it is as if you are so cold and teeth chatter it doesn’t last that long I don’t get any sickness as I think they give you some sickness meds.

No one told me about the sickness or the shakes. So after I had my daughter I downed a monster, coffee, jam on toast, marmite on toast, a chicken tikka wrap and a toastie in about an hour😂 after that I felt really really ill and had to have an anti sickness injection which really helped. I was also shakey but I think that, that was the caffeine😂 the nurses were really shocked that I didn’t sick it all up sorry tmi. If someone had warned me I wouldn’t have went so crazy. My advice is stick to water and a bit of toast if you feel sick ask for the anti sickness injection it worked within 20 odd minutes and it never came back x

I wasn’t sick and didn’t have the shakes either. It was a good experience for me

Two c sections and thrilled with them both. I never have the shakes and I did not even feel nauseous for a second after the second one. I think the people that had bad experiences are just more vocal. I had an option with the second one and I said absolutely sign me up. I will do this again.

I got the shakes to the point where I didn’t want to hold my son

I didn’t!! I loved it, if I have another child I’m requesting another!!

Cat 2 emergency c section. I wasn't sick but had the shakes. I can't remember how long they lasted. But they stopped by the time i was given my lad. My experience was amazing even though it was an emergency x

I had shakes and was sick but it was an emergency section, I had high temp, baby was distressed and I think I was in shock tbh. I hope it would be different with a planned section

I puked almost the entirety of my c-section. My body just didn't like the meds. I had the shakes for a good few hours afterward, but I also hemorrhaged really bad and had to have a blood transfusion.

Thank you ladies xxx

No sick for me, but did have the shakes. Passed after a little while

I did get the shakes but wasn’t sick! The shakes felt odd but not necessarily unpleasant I was just aware that I was shaking but couldn’t stop it 🤷🏻‍♀️
