Getting pregnant while taking Zoloft

Has anyone gotten pregnant while taking Zoloft? My partner and I have been trying for our second and have not been successful yet. With our first i was on Welbutrin, but was switched to Zoloft in the mean time.

Me. Very much so not on purpose as well.

Yes with both of mine

I did, and we were trying for a baby for a year.

My aunt did. Then continued taking it and she didn’t know she was pregnant h til 6 months along. My cousin is beyond messed up mentally and emotionally and ended up on heroin unfortunately

@Christina🤱🏼🍂☕️♈️ I took Zoloft during my entire pregnancy and after. I have healthy twins. I wouldn’t attribute your cousin’s challenges to the Zoloft. It is one of the few anti depressants that is safe for pregnancy.

I was on Zoloft for 2 out of 3 pregnancies. If your trying to get pregnant ask your Dr about trying to take baby aspirin every day. That's what I did after 10 years of not being able to conceive and I got pregnant with my first after being on the aspirin for 2 months. A fertility Dr told me to try it. But again ask your Dr about it.

@Madeline everyone is different and drugs affect people differently

@Christina🤱🏼🍂☕️♈️ I understand that. That’s why I think that your aunt’s experience is a bit fear mongering to share. Zoloft is generally safe, but no woman in her right mind would risk taking it if people start attributing it to mentally screwing up their children. There are so many reasons out there that your cousin could have ended up the way she did. However, telling a woman who is trying to get pregnant that her antidepressant could CAUSE mental health issues and serious drug addiction in her child is a very good way to add undo stress and anxiety.

@Madeline ok 🤷🏼‍♀️ personally I wouldn’t take drugs while pregnant or trying to get pregnant but to each their own

Yes

Yes

Me but we call it sertraline here in the UK. I just had the dosage decreased to 50mg whilst pregnant. Healthy baby boy, he’s doing absolutely fine.

@Christina🤱🏼🍂☕️♈️ I'm so glad youre privileged enough to not have to take medications while pregnant. Unfortunately for me if I don't want to off myself I'm stuck on "drugs" of which zoloft is pretty safe. Have you read the studies or side effects? I think to truly understand what can happen one should be best informed before fear mongering

I am currently on 150mg, maybe I should see if I should decrease my dose.

I decided not to continue with zoloft when I found out I was pregnant due to it possibly causing with draws on baby during use in the last trimester. Luckily my mental health has stayed good!

I was advised by my doctor to change from Lexapro to Zoloft when I found out I was pregnant as it is one of the safer medications while pregnant. I have a healthy 4mo and neither of us had any issues during pregnancy or after birth. Check with your doctor regarding effects but I don’t see why it would affect falling pregnant if safe to take throughout pregnancy. Good luck 🤍

Mamas that were on it, can I ask your dose?

50 mg

I was on 150mg

150mg

Ultimately i was max dose while breastfeeding. I'm not sure dosage I was on while pregnant though it was a lower dose. If you're worried you can talk to your ob or get a psychiatrist or np/pa that specializes in mental health medications.
