Alone with baby

My husband is having to travel out of the country for a week for a sick family member and it will be the first time I have been alone with baby for this long. We have pretty much done everything 50/50 up until now. We don’t have much of a support network here so any tips on solo parenting for the week would love! My main nervousness is about the night times

I don’t have any tips. I just wanted to say, you got this momma. You carried your baby for months and have gotten to know them. You got this.

When is he leaving? It might be good to do a "trial run" where you act like he isn't there so you see what your main obstacles/hurdles will be. If it is too much you could always hire a night nurse to help for a couple nights at least so you can catch up on sleep.

Not sure how you’re organized and what’s possible but since you can’t wake anybody up, maybe try to have everything you need next to your bed so you don’t have to get up for everything and make a huge deal out of it. That way you could at least minimize the wake hours for yourself. Other than that make sure you are well set up with everything you need. Diapers, wipes, maybe formula and also clean clothes for the both of you so that you don’t have to worry about doing laundry (too often). Also make sure you clean everything you want to have cleaned before your husband leaves so that you don’t feel the urge to having to do these things. Overall don’t stress yourself about what it looks like in the house and just clean the mess up once he’s back. :) It’s going to be tough for sure going from 2 parents to one, but you got this Mama ❤️

Oh and maybe do some meal prep 😁 and if you run out don’t be too hard on yourself and just order a pizza. ☺️

My husband travels a good bit for work. The night before he leaves he takes baby and that allows me to prep everything. I prep as much as humanly possible. I make it so I don’t have to leave the house and all the cooking is done and ready to go in the fridge.
