Momma my baby is almost 18 m and she’s was like that since birth and still is like that even when I’m calm, I recently just changed diaper brands and she doesn’t do it as bad but she still does I think it’s just the sensation of it or whatever I’m not sure
Some of it is they just had to get used to it, but one of the reasons I really enjoy having a wipe warmer is because he didn't seem to cry as much when the wipes were warm
Warm up wipes (if you can’t get a wipe warmer, you can use a hair dryer making sure not to dry them out, or even just between the palms of your hands), sing to them, make it fun? My boy is 19m and he still screams, not crying but, he isn’t keen on it as I think is the same for a lot of kids. I always put him down on the mat and like make a funny noise as he does down and then like boop his face and body, blow raspberries on his belly or tickle him. Or I just talk to him about his day, what I’m doing to change him or what we’re going to do later. I know they’re only a newborn but it’s important to get all that communication in with them from the get go and they love it ❤️
my boy screamed himself silent through diaper changes for the first 3 months. at first it stressed me out so much but then something clicked and was like. yeah he's uncomfortable but it won't be like this forever.
My son does the same thing! It hurts me every time I feel like I need to rush. What I do is “horse lips” (lol that’s what my doula called it!!) or just a strange continuous sound and that distracts him enough. Other times I use his soother to try and help but if he is to worked up then it does nothing.
You’re probably disturbing her sleep 😭 or maybe diaper rash?
Wipe warmer
@Jody definitely ruining her vibe.. 😭😂
I try to make it fun. Might extend it a tiny bit but if it calms her then the extra 10 seconds doesn’t really matter
I know its not nice to hear but it will stop as they get used to it, my little boy would cry every time but now hes 15 weeks and is very chill during changes, you staying calm is important like you said. Hopefully she will soon start to chill out you can always try distracting her with a toy or mirror
