Booking induction

they normally will book it for the day you turn 39 weeks as long as there is space. however they will call you the morning of to confirm if they have space for you in the hospital x

I think every hospital is different. I had a sweep yesterday at 38 weeks, I’ll have another one on Monday and then on Wednesday, if needs be. I have an induction booked in case I don’t go into labour naturally and the hospital asked me when I wanted to book it for!

You can be induced from 37 weeks. C section is 39 weeks + x

think it depends on the reason and your hospital, i was offered an induction at 38 weeks due to having polyhydraminos and fears baby was big, but i ended up going into labour naturally a few days before 🤷🏻‍♀️

My consultant wants me to be induced at 39 weeks and said a midwife would contact me to arrange it. When the midwife called she had been told anywhere between two days before 39 weeks and two days after. I asked for the last day in that range as still hoping to go naturally before if possible, so that’s when she booked it for.

@Jane this is really helpful to ask! If they ring I’ll ask for days either side, if they just give me one date. My 39 weeks falls on Good Friday so wondering if they’ll want to avoid that due to staffing etc. will see though ☺️

Yes they okd me having sweeps before induction just ask with savannah i was induced 39 weeks on the dot this time I'm getting induced at 38 weeks so have been okd for sweeps from 37 weeks the midwifes can't do before 39 weeks unless a dream has agreed and put it in your clinical notes x
