Birth after Episiotomy birth advice!

If you had an episiotomy for your first birth, how did your subsequent births go after this? Did you have vaginal? Tearing? Did the scar affect birth at all?

Had an episiotomy with my first, my second I had a vaginal birth, no tearing at all, was actually a much better birth and recovery than my first

Following because I actually want to know this as well! 🫶🏼

Oh great question! Following, I’m the same boat also.

I shared this post around and someone commented " I was given an episiotomy against my will by an asshole OB with my first. Within the first week my body rejected the stitches and nothing healed properly. Worst experience of my life. Thankfully since the cut healed wide open, my second popped out like she was riding a slip n' slide 🤦‍♀️😅"

Not sure that mine counts cos it was 11 years apart but I had an episiotomy with my first & my second born was a bigger baby and I had very MINOR tears and it was a labia tear instead. But I did a lot of work educating myself on preventing it whereas with my first, I didn’t

I had an episiotomy with my first, had tearing and grazes with my second and only a very small tear with my 3rd

I had an episiotomy and the stitches felt like hell, honestly no idea why that sucked so bad but it did. With my second baby I was worried but there were no issues and I ended up with no stitches and no tear

I experienced this during all four of my births. Each time, I had dissolvable stitches. While it didn’t impact the actual deliveries, I found it challenging because of the pain and the need to be careful when walking. My last baby was born two years ago, and I had a severe tear because I delivered her myself while being wheeled up to the labor and delivery side of the hospital.
