I'd recommend core and pelvic floor rehab exercises (when the time comes) rather than a band x
I didn’t need this last time. The pregnancy leggings etc can be helpful enough to make you feel supported if needed. Everyone is different though.
How do you know if you need one?
Short answer - you don't need one It can only do more damage than good because you'd be using the band instead of your own muscles. So it wouldn't help healing, in fact it would only hinder it.
I don’t think you do really unless you have a sever abdominal splitting. Or you may want to wear one briefly for a walk if struggling with back pain. Same reason I wear a pregnancy band now if I go for a walk, just helps me get that bit further. Some cultures like Japan have a long history of doing it. But jury is still out on how it helps or hinders recovery. If you are worried about postpartum recovery. I’ve heard great things from people who have had mummy MOTs. Where they look at muscle recovery and pelvic floor etc. I’d wait until you give birth and see if you think you need it. X
I wore the smallest size I have in pregnancy maternity bands for support after as your tummy feels so empty
