Am I a bad mom?

Am I a bad mom bc my 3 month old screams during tummy time so I don't do it as much as I should bc it physically pains me to hear him cry for more than a few seconds. He holds his head up great and we've been doing tummy time on our chest or legs since birth. We've even started assisted sitting. I just can't handle him crying so I don't put him on his belly as much as I should be..

tummy time on the chest counts so you can start there and then put him on a play mat for a few minutes a day while also doing on the chest and eventually they should start getting used to it, even if its five minute intervals on the play mat it helps with training them! Don’t feel stressed or bad you’re a good mom!

My daughter use to do this but it was good for her so I let her fuss. It doesn’t make u a bad more to comfort ur son

Tummy time isn’t just about being on the floor like you said, You can lay baby on your stomach/chest and that counts too! Don’t stress even if it’s just for a few seconds it still helps! On the other hand though does he have frequent tummy ache? Of course most babies don’t like it anyway as it does ache strengthening up muscles but could be a thought xxx

You have plenty of time, don't feel bad for following your instincts. Tummy time wasn't even a thing until the 90s I think it was? And every baby has been able to figure it out long before then lol. I think tummy time came from the on the back campaign (for safe sleep) to mark the difference between supervised play time on tummy vs always placing them on their back for sleep time. I'm not saying tt doesn't help or do anything but they start to enjoy more around 4 months. don't stress it! enjoy your baby.

Some kids aren't good with tummy time on the floor, doing it like you have been is great You are doing great, definitely not a bad Mom.
