@Geana yeh hers are starting to break
i’ve tried the dummy fairy and going cold turkey but i gave in really quick as dad was on a night shift and i just wanted her to go bed cause she was getting on my nerves😬 i did want her to ideally get rid of it before her sister came but it’s not looking likely. we used to only have it for naps and bedtime but now she pretty much has it whenever she wants except when we’re out of the house or she’s at the childminder’s
Not till 3, but I would wean her off slowly during the day and eventually just get to naps and night time for using it it, then let her have a count down of when she will throw away her binky and let her throw it away and get her a toy or something. Then just have her throw it away. I saved a couple just in case, but definitely had a few days of crying tantrums. I seen some ppl recommend cutting the tip or poking a hole in it.
My little boy started chewing his. Every time he chewed through it we put it in the bin and told him that he’s not getting anymore. When he got to the last dummy we reminded him lots that if he chewed it, it was gone and he wouldn’t get anymore. He chewed it, it got binned, he cried for one bedtime and that was that 😂 he just under two. Tricky when you have a baby that has one too. I’d say if they are only using it at night/ sleep for comfort then it’s not the end of the world!
I went cold turkey when my boy was 18 months old because he was obsessed with a broken one.
