Sorry this is happening to you 💔
@Kay thank you for replying to me I really appreciate it x
You only need to go to a&e if your filling 2 large pads or more per hour or if you are feeling faint from the blood loss. Or if you’re passing large clots larger than your palm. If the bleeding is manageable you just have to ride it out at home I’m afraid. I’m sorry this is happening x
I’ve passed three at home, it’s awful but the earlier you’ve lost the baby the more it’s just like a heavy period rather than a labor. I’ve lost two at 8 weeks and they were hard physically. But the loss I had closer to 6 weeks wasn’t as bad. Never saw a heartbeat for that one and it more like a period. They usually took around three to four weeks after loss before I bled.
@Lisa I’m so sorry you’ve had to go through that 🙏❤️ Thank you for replying. If you don’t mind me asking, How long did it take to pass the baby after you first started bleeding ?
I miscarried 2 weeks ago so I’ve not got my period yet. I have to wait for a negative test and a period before I can try again. My situation was similar but I found out at 6 weeks and miscarried at 7 weeks but the NHS confirmed it at 8 weeks.
I actually never found the embryo with any of my losses. The third one I actually really tried to find it because I wanted to test it to find out why the loss happened. There’s a test from Natera called Anora that’s tests tissue and I sent off all the tissue I found and the test didn’t have enough tissue to test. :(
I didn’t answer your question entirely. I do believe the majority of the tissue passes within the first hour or two of bleeding starting. I just wasn’t able to find it. I had seen it on ultrasound so I knew it was there but I didn’t know what I was looking for. Turns out the actual fetal tissue is very clear and stretchy and often indiscernible. I do distinctly remember wiping away a small amount of something clear and stringy/stretchy and I assumed it wasn’t important 😩 I’m so mad at myself for that.
@Lisa oh wow I’m so sorry Lisa. Did they give you an option to have the surgery or medical stuff when you found out you was miscarrying ? Or did you miscarry before you could get help
@Lisa also I’m sorry if I’m asking too many questions I can stop if it’s too much 🙏
Yes I had the option. I was afraid of the surgery and opted for expectant management. They refer to the surgery as surgical management and the pills as medical management. I did use the pills with my two 8 week losses actually but I took them after I passed most of the tissue to make sure it all came out. Having retained tissue is no good.
My second miscarriage happened before I could get help. But I was prepared for it. I already knew my progesterone was low.
Also I don’t mind sharing, I think it’s so important for us to share when we go through these things so we can heal and help eachother
I passed all four miscarriages at home first was the worst lots of clots. Others weren’t so bad as the body knows what to do. Trust your body.

Update: I ended up going a&e due to losing so much blood and got rushed in for surgery. I had to get blood transfusion and still I’m in hospital. Thank u all for replying it really helped all the support 🙌
Poor you, I hope you have a swift recovery xx
Mine started off brown, then fresh red flow. If you’ve got scans booked then I’d wait unless you’re in severe pain or passing a lot of blood/big clots.
