I use the Huckleberry App for all things sleep with my 5.5 month old. It adjusts the wake windows according to sleep! I’ve been using it since baby was like 2 weeks old and it has been a miracle worker in helping him be such a great sleeper!! In saying that, an average wake window for my boy who is nearly 6 months old is between 2-2.5 hours. He naps 3, sometimes 2 times a day with a daily total of 2.5-3.5 hours of nap time, and sleeps 10-11 hours straight at night!

Get the huckleberry app! Best thing ever. It'll give you nap and sleep predictions for you baby

We were on 2.5/2.5/2.5/2.5 with 3 naps and in the transition into 2 naps with 2.5/3/3.25-3.5 right now. Sometimes she does 3 naps if 2nd nap is short. Also 5.5 months!

My kiddo is all over the map. He typically has 1 long nap about 2 hours and 2 short naps about an hour each during the day and an 8 hour and 4 hour sleep during the night. Wake windows are anywhere from 2-3 hours except the middle of the night one is about 20/30mins because it is only bottle, change, and back to bed

Please don’t ask other people about their babies but just observe your baby. Wake windows are just averages and not scientifically proven. If your baby loves to sleep a lot you’ll probably see more daytime sleep and possibly shorter awake times. My baby does not sleep a lot (maybe 12-13hrs per day at 6 months) and comparing him to other babies is just wrong 🤷🏻‍♀️ Ideally you should track the baby’s sleep for about a week and establish how much on average they sleep per day. Then divide this into day sleep and night sleep. For my baby it is about 2-3hrs day sleep split into 3 naps and about 10-11hrs night sleep. Although he’s already 6 months he can sometimes fall asleep after 2hrs awake, or sometimes 4hrs awake. Babies are not robots and for me personally reading about other babies sleep patterns was confusing and made me obsessed about my baby’s sleep. As soon as I let it go it became better - especially after I let go the advice to put the baby to sleep at 7pm in the evening 🤣
