My midwife said to do them anyway, even though I opted for an elective c-section. She said to do so because of the weight of the baby on your pelvic floor
Definitely do them! It’s not too late and it will be important to do them afterwards too :)
I would still do them. I didnt do any pelvic floor exercises. I ended up having a csection and i have still definitely noticed weakness
Thank you!
Everyone is different, I’ve had two babies via section and never done a pelvic floor exercise or kegel in my life. Zero issues with my pelvic floor, I was on a trampoline with my toddler last week and I’m a runner with zero leakage. Don’t sweat about it too much xx
How many times should we be doing them?
I'd also recommend if you can afford it a Mummy MOT after you have your baby. Just Google to see who provides them in your area. They will be able.to assess your pelvic floor and also check your tummy muscles for separation and recommend what's best for you to do to strengthen again. I was interested to hear that some people actually have a pelvic floor that is hypertonic, which means it's too tense and almost too strong! This can create its own problems and kegels could potentially make things worse. So it's definitely worth getting that assessed jf you can. I just had mine 4 months postpartum and it was really reassuring to know I'm on the right track.
It's not too late. The GP forgot to do my referral to the physio so I didn't end up being seen and starting exercises until a year post partum. It's making a difference even with the delay!
What if I can’t hold my pee after at all
And r
And kegals r clench release clench release
?
It’s never too late to start, try doing them twice a day every day
