Honestly, I wouldn’t stress yourself out thinking about it or compare your son to another.
@Carrie only today and maybe they just got fed up of printing ditty sheets. 😂
@Holly I try not to but I worry as my friends kids are amazing at everything and it makes me over think and worry.

My 2020 kid hasn’t even started school yet so isn’t on any books! I really wouldn’t worry at all at this stage ☺️
Kids will all be a different stages with different strengths. No point stressing and worrying about something that’s out of your control
Having taught RWI for years, I've found that it all suddenly comes together and then they can read quite well. Ditties and red books sound quite normal for this stage. They haven't had time to learn that many sounds yet!
My daughter is on the last book of the purple set. (Red, blue, green, purple) She has completed 28 ditty sheets all together; she is on her 40th reading book since October 2024 (March 2020 kid)

She’s always been amazing at reading & writing. I wouldn’t worry at all! There’s no pressure. Also; there is only 5 of them in the reception class & only 35 children in the whole school where my fighter goes so I do feel they get a lot of 1 on 1 time xx

My daughter is now on her second book of Pink!
My little boy hasn’t even moved onto the red books yet 🤦♀️🤦♀️
