Definitely blood work. You could have a vitamin D deficiency, which is common in the winter. I had this and I was tired all the time.
Getting blood work is the best starting point. You could be low on certain vitamins or you could be hypothyroid or any number of other issues.
I just got blood work done and had critically low iron and iron saturation, so now I'm on supplements that should hopefully help the fatigue!
@Grace what supplements are you on? What's the difference between iron and iron saturation exactly? Sorry for all the questions.
@Mas so I don't totally understand 😂 but saturation has something to do with how much of your transferrian can actually hold iron...so I think it tells you your deficiency (or overload). Basically, I'm either anemic or close to it 🫢🙃! Not sure it's exact name, but it is a prescription iron supplement with some vitamin C I believe. I have to take it every other day!
I recommend having bloodwork done. I found out I’m anemic and vitamin D deficient. I now take a multivitamin, an iron supplement, and a vitamin D supplement. I feel so much better, and my energy levels have improved.
Are you already taking iron supplements?
Low iron probably. Eat more foods w iron and use a reusable iron fish (from Ama) in your cooking to release trace amounts of iron into your food naturally. Like when you’re boiling pasta just pop it in. Fry on raw seasoned cast iron
Could be iron as others said... Can also take b complex which helps with energy levels. Are you sleeping ok? Do you snore? Could it be sleep apnea?
Thanks all, had blood tests done end of November last year they all came back normal but maybe I need a repeat of them. It’s so horrible feeling so exhausted and taking care of a baby with this I can’t get thru the days without having naps 😫
@Grace thank you. It is all a bit confusing
@incog was the blood work before or after having your baby? And a lot can change in blood work in 4-5 months, especially if you've had a baby.
Does anyone suffer with period fatigue? Before and during my period this month I just feel totally wiped out 😭 I am too exhausted to do anything x
@Kelli after my baby but I think I do need a few more bloods done now x
Make a doctor's appointment & get a blood test done. You could have low iron.
