My little girl is now 2 , but we went through something similar. Dor the first 2.5 months she would start crying between 6-9pm until 3-5am , inconsolably. I tried to exclusively bf but everyone around me was saying she is hungry and isn’t getting enough from , so we did bottle and bf but sometimes she would cry with the bottle in her mouth, trying to take it and then crying. She probably also have had colics but mostly she was crying because she was hungry and couldn’t feed properly. Turns out she has a lip tie and no one has checked her for that or at least suggested that i need to check . We only just found out when she was 10 month and they said no point in removing it if she eats fine . My advice , check for lip/tongue ties , but also ask your paediatrician , could be colic or something else . It’s tough but hang in there 🥹🥰 xx
My little one is the same and we noticed that she is struggling with colics and reflux. Infacol has been a life saver for us although with her currently cluster feeding we aren’t quite sure if we are allowed to give it to her for every single feed.
I know it can feel like a minefield but Google is your friend with this one. If you google the symptoms, you should be able to find what aligns most. Sometimes you don’t even realise something until you read it in a symptoms list. Colic, reflux, wind, Cmpa, lactose intolerance, tongue tie, lip tie etc etc etc so many things have similar symptoms when it comes to babies and it is hard to identify which. I have thought my girl has had every single one of these at some point!
16 days old n yes my second. Some nights are better than others, he’ll not want to be put down at alll n others he’ll sleep in his Moses basket. I think it’s trapped wind a lot of the time n we’re still combi feeding as he lost too much weight but trying to turning back to exclusively breastfeeding 🤱🏽 wen we can
Thanks for the replies so far.. I tried infracol and it made her vomit and poo her self with awful diarrhoea 😔 I have changed formula recently and it’s helped with her feeding, less trapped wind and not as scrunched up but her witching hours just make me so sad 😞
Wen my daughter had reflux in 2022, they gave us a powder to put in with her milk 🥛- I can’t remember what it was called but remember it was cow & gate brand
My LO is 14 weeks old now, but he was like this for the first 7 weeks. It was really tough 😪 im not sure what it was, but the doctors say that its probably their tummy expanding and digestive system getting used to the milk. I used colief drops, and that seemed to help he fantastic now and has been from around 7 weeks old. I know just how hard it is but it will pass and things will get better
@Becky with the drops do you make the bottle 30 mins before feeding or can you make the bottle on demand and use straight away?
Sorry you’re going through this. You’re doing all the right things and sound like a great mum. My baby is just over 4 weeks old now and just started the 5pm witching hour crying. It is really hard and makes me nervous about how the night feeds will go. No real advice as I’m new to this too, but just wanted to say I sympathise! We are also trying infacol, not sure it’s made a difference atm, will see after a week x
@Emma carabel
My first daughter was the same in 2021 and now my second who was born a week ago! I’m thinking silent reflux again and im going to get her tongue tie checked just incase it’s causing issues but I pace feed and burp after every hour, use anything for wind and sit upright for 30 minutes but it’s such a long process in the first few weeks
@Sarah I feel for you!! I dread the nights also… the anxiety is horrid isn’t it 😔 hope the infracol works for your little one 🫶 x
Same here. My little one is currently 1 week old and we are going through the same phase. Apparently it’s linked to the baby activity pattern while in the womb but it will change by itself. We’ve been told to control what I’m eating as this can cause bloating for the baby if I’m breastfeeding. We are currently having to deal with the 12 to 3 am lack of sleep. He is not crying, but cranky and always looking for comfort latch. Hope this helps
My little one was the same the first time we brought him home. We hadn’t realised the window was open so despite him being in a vest, sleepsuit and swaddle he must have been freezing :( it may not be that at all… really best of luck hun xx
My daughter was the same when she was newborn it’s a really hard stage ❤️🩹 have you tried infacol incase she’s struggling with wind? I’d give it around 5/10 mins before feeding and it seemed to make her a lot more comfortable and kept her upright for a while after feeds x
