There is usually a recommended limit to weights allowance when you buy the cot. Some cots are designed to fit up to 5 years of age. As long as they can sleep comfortably, it’s fine. Don’t be that friend.
My daughter is still in her cot bed (but with the sides taken down and a bed guard instead). She’s quite small so still very comfy in there but we are thinking of getting her a new bed when she turns 4.
Ive only just taken the sides off my daughters cot (this size 70 ×140) in January... It's the same bed, just with no sides....and I have no plans to change this untill I potentially need the cot again or she's at least 5 xxx
My 3.5 child is still in a cot in my room - he has a bed and his own room - he’s just really attached to his cot and says he will ‘miss me’ in his own room - I’m not going to force the issue- it’s fine
There's no set rule, as long as they are comfy and sleep well leave them to it. We only changed for a bed as my daughter started climbing out the cot at 2
