Proud mum moments
Just wanted to share this with any mums who’s child is speech delayed, or having any developmental delays etc.
My 2 year old has been making so much progress lately and I’m here to tell all you mums that they will speak soon🥹you may feel like that day won’t come but it will and if not they will find a way to communicate with you.
My son still doesn’t really speak. He has the support from nursery with targets in place and waiting for a salt appointment. He’s been accepted on the waiting list.
Recently he’s become more confident in group activities at nursery when usually he would never even give eye contact or join in. He’s started to learn some of the actions to songs and even though he can’t speak he babbles the tune very well that you can tell what he’s singing 🥹at home all he does is sing. He’s also learnt a few words now such as bye , no , car which he has been saying often. And to communicate with us in his own way, he takes my hand or his dads and takes us to the room that he wants to go to or will point at the door or what he wants.
This is a big achievement for him. He’s also started recently holding hands when walking and follow directions most of the time when usually he wouldn’t. He still has his moments where he doesn’t want to walk or use the pram and this is where he becomes overwhelmed.
He never use to tolerate being tucked in bed or having a duvet or blanket. But now he loves it. He still asks for a bottle of milk and he’s still in a cot but now he loves lying down getting tucked in and he will take us by the hand to go to bed to let us know he’s tired and he has a favourite little pillow shaped in a star that he sleeps next to.
Sounds pretty to similar to my wee boy x
