Whoever voted no, ur moms a hoe👎
This sounds like me. I had a sweep at 39+2 and was 2cm at that appointment. Lost my mucus plug and had another sweep at 39+4 where I was 3cm. Went into labour a few hours later. So hopefully it works for you too 🤞🏻
Yes, I agree with @Ellie-May. I was 2 cm and went for a sweep. Unfortunately, It did nothing so booked in for an induction with the balloon catheter, and after they broke my waters, it took 3 and a half hours. I wish you luck either way.
@Paige thank you!! I’m really hoping for instant labor tomorrow!
There’s no way of really knowing baby will come when baby is ready
a sweep will only push things along if your body and baby are already ready!
I had my membrane sweep and 2 days later went into labor so i’m thinking there’s a good chance a second one will kickstart things.
Took three sweeps to kick start mine
@Donna Woods when did you have the first n when did you have the last sweep?
There's no guarantee. I had two and neither worked.
39, 40 and 40+3. The third did trigger labour and contractions started less than 2 hours after. My waters broke 12 hours after the last sweep. But I failed to progress and ended up with hormone induction and then emergency c section. I, personally, feel that if I’d have let nature take its course I probably could have gone naturally or had induction and avoided c section
none of these options are accurate as there’s no way of knowing for sure if this will or will not put you into labour unfortunately! some women have one sweep and go in to labour by the night, others have many and it never seems to work. you’ll just have to wait and see. if you want to optimise your chances, try and keep active after your sweep, go for a long walk after it and then do some stretches / yoga ball when you’re home ❤️
