C-section date

It depends on your trust - mine booked mine whilst I was in the room straight into the system! How many weeks are you? Mine booked for 39 weeks on the dot

Hey! I have agreed to the same. My consultant explained to me that I the c-section would happen between 39-40 weeks and I would get a call a week before with the date. So could get a call any time from 38 weeks 😊 x

Hey, I had my consultation when I was 34 weeks and was told by the consultant I would find out my date the following week. I never did so I called up and she told me I wouldn’t find out a date until 5/10 days before, which was frustrating with the conflicting info the consultant gave me. What she did tell me though is that it will be anything from the 15-29th April, My due date is the 22nd April so I could go into 41 weeks. I’m with Leeds trust xx

I got a call with my date at 37 weeks, not having it until 39+5

@Naomi hi! So he sent a referral off, but said it would only take a couple of days for a date to come back, I’ve contacted the hospital and they’ve emailed the surgeon team to give them a bit of a budget so hopefully I receive one soon! I’m 37 weeks today, so couple of weeks yet! Xx

@Katie ok this is reassuring thankyou! I wasn’t sure if an appointment would go on my badger notes or if they would contact me, so I’ll wait and see x

@Liv hiya! Yeah I’ve been told they won’t allow me to go over 39 weeks as they’re concerned about baby being quite big, so I’m expecting anywhere between 14th and 20th but we will see! I’m hoping they’ll upload it onto my badger notes app! Thankyou and good luck! Xx

@Helen ok cool, yeah I’ve been told they aren’t allowing me to go past 39 weeks so hoping to receive my date sooner or later so I can start preparing myself 😂 xx

I had my appointment at my 36week appointment they booked me in there n then am 39 weeks tommorow n it’s booked in for Monday the 7th as I left mine abit late and that was the only date they had space available as it’s the safest way to have my baby as I had a 4th degree tear in 2023

You get them between 39 and 40 weeks I got mine at my consultant appointment but that was cause they had to bring her at 37 weeks most hospitals have set days to do elective c-sections you can call up and ask if they do that but you should get your date around 39 weeks x

@Ljay Thankyou, yeah my consultant told me that don’t want to let me go over 39 due to concerns on babies measurements, so I’m hoping it comes through soon! Thankyou! Xx

@Liv if it’s to do with size they should book you in for a growth scan and then you will probably see a consultant after it who will book you in then that’s what they did with me they had me in for a growth scan and I saw the consultant afterwards and he booked me in for the next available section which was 2 days later cause they didn’t think she was growing after having a growth spurt and cause I was full term at 37 weeks they wanted her out so if he’s big they’ll probably do the same with you once your past 37 weeks they don’t mind bringing them early x

@Ljay I’ve had both my growth scans and both my consultations yes. Ok cool, Thankyou! He has referred me for a section, I’m just waiting for the surgeon team to provide me with a date xx

@Liv should be any time now cause it’s concern for growth sometimes though you have to call and check if you haven’t heard anything in a week I’d ring some hospitals have that much going on cases get lost I had to remind them a few times about my section I hope everything goes well if I can give you any advice though keep on top of your pain relief and take bland snacks like crackers and breadsticks with you afterwards you won’t have much of an appetite so bland plain things will be your best friend and with the pain relief they’ll give you Dehydracodine and tell you to take paracetamol and ibrupheon take your Dehydracodine then 2 hours later ibruphen then 2 hours after that paracetamol and go in a circle every 2 hours then your pain relief isn’t wearing off at any point giving you any weak spots it’s what the midwives told me to do and it helped so much compared to doing everything every 4 hours spacing it out was the most helpful thing xx

I had my section this morning and was told last Tuesday what date it was and got a call that Thursday with the time I was to be there x
