Yes as Nikita said it will be based on things such as conditions with mum also people with GD will be either first or second as they can’t have you without food past midday. Unfortunately that won’t take priority. Wishing you all the best xx
I was very likely to be first on my day because I had twins, both breech. They definitely do look at all those scheduled and take the highest priority first and you just never know what the mix is across the board unfortunately x
So I was first both times as I have diabetes so I couldn't fast indefinitely. I think being breech unless you go into labour they won't be concerned with you to waiting. That being said, my hospital would only book 1 high priority woman per day because of this and there were only 3/4 planned sections each day so that they were likely to get through them all with emergencies in only 2 operating theatres
It won't be till the day where they'll confirm. With my 2nd my gdm was bad and I had hypos, they ended up putting me first instead of 2nd. With my 3rd I was 2nd again but put 1st due to my gdm again and my son having a heart condition so had to go to NICU as soon as born x
It all depends on who else is in with you on the day. I had GD and twins so I took priority over another mum who had GD because she was only having one baby. Breech isn’t too high risk so you might be going in a bit later
I was scheduled for the same time as you. There was 2 or 3 emergencies but I was high priority so went soon as they were finished. Eventually went down at 3pm. If it was much later they said they would have to reschedule for the next day. I will say they were amazing in theatre he was out within 6 mins when they started the operation
They should be able to tell you when you are booked in on the list. At my pre op appointment she told me I was second on the list. This meant that I went to theatre around 11am, also had to be in at 7.30am in morning.
Hey all sorry to jump on this, I have a heart condition and not been given a choice about having a section because of it (this is my second Csection) and was surprised when my appointment letter said to come in at 12pm, judging on what you’ve all been saying, does this seem weird to you?
@Lor from my understanding there is 3 scheduled in the morning, and 2 or 3 on the afternoon. If you got an afternoon appt I would imagine you would likely be first from the afternoon slot. I could be wrong and I am curious if anyone else thinks similar. X
@Lor when you say you've not been given a choice? How far along are you?
@NikitaI’m 33 weeks tomorrow, I was induced last time and my heart nearly failed ended in emergency Csection 😊
@Lor have you seen a cardiologist this time around? I saw one due to my heart condition to have a couple of tests to see if I was fit to give birth naturally or if I need a section x
Yes I have seen them three times, that’s when they wrote to my consultant to say I’m not fit to give birth naturally and needed a section
When I was booking my section they told me it's usually ones most likely to have complications that will go first, I got told I'd be first as I've got a heart and lung condition, so things like that would take priority over a breech baby unfortunately hun xx
