I also didn't have the easiest experience with breastfeeding early on and decided I'd try to make it to 6 months. My son decided he hated bottles and by then I actually felt happy to continue so pushed to 1 year hoping to switch to cows milk. He decided he wasn't a fan of that either and again he was happy and I was happy to continue. We are now at 2 years 2 months and I'm just going with the flow but encouraging him to naturally wean. There's so many reasons people may decide to wean early and that is totally OK but I've been fortunate enough to be able to continue
My goal was 2yrs. He didn’t stop until 3 😂
I exclusively pump with him latching here and there but I’ve said a year but pumping is exhausting it may be more realistic for me to stop when he starts solids
Mine wont take a bottle, planning to breastfeed until a year then try and transition to milk from a cup with the view that he probably will still want a boob at least before bed for a while longer which is fine!
When she grows teeth 🙃
I'm doing it for 12 months minimum and then see how she goes gradually wean off hopefully. It's the best way for babies to fulfil their nutritional needs until they are 12 months old
Then there are benefits proven up to two years old
My LG is 15 months old, still breastfeeding. No idea when I'll stop, I don't have a specific aim.
We are almost at 11 months. My goal was originally 6 months but when I got there it was harder to transition to formula than just continue bf as I was finding it much easier than at the start. My new aim is to go till one and then he will be on 3 meals and transition to cows milk, but will continue a morning and a night feed for as long as we can. That's the plan but who knows 😆
Exclusively bf until 11 months then my MIL forced me to combi feed even though I was introducing goat's milk via open cup at meals. It's been a nightmare getting rid of bottles at 2.5. He refuses to drink milk from anything else
We’re at 12 months and trying to wean off it now
21 months and still going
Nearly at 3 years and hoping to wean her off once we get to 3
Does anyone know if you can breastfeed if you get pregnant? I am definitely not pregnant but wanted to know😂

My goal is 18 months!
@Martina definitely! But most women notice a supply drop when they get pregnant x
My goal was 3 months, then 6 months (he’s 5 & a half months now), and now my goal is 1 year, but I’d like him to have breast milk (whether that be from a bottle or the breast) up until at least 2 for the most benefits, however after 1 I won’t be giving him boob as the main source of nutrition, probably more as a comfort/bonding thing. I’d like him to be able to be without me if I need him to be, but I think I’ll struggle ending at 1 year 😢🥺
@Martina there's a great Facebook page if you're on Facebook called breastfeeding older babies and beyond. There would be plenty of people there to talk to about feeding during pregnancy and tandem feeding afterwards if that was something you'd want to know more about I'd recommend looking for them. So many mums that have huge knowledge on all thing breastfeeding
7 months in with my boy. I’ll stop nursing him when he’s ready but I’m going to stop pumping when he turns 1 in August. Until August I’ll continue to nurse him as needed and I try to pump 4 times a day mostly for the freezer stash or for his bottles when I’m at work. I’m also looking into freeze drying the milk I have frozen
One year. Honestly I'd like to go longer but there's a med I want to trial and it's safety during breastfeeding hasn't been tested 😭
My goal is two years and I’m 18months still going so six months left or maybe even more .. let see .. Breastfeeding a new born was hard but breastfeeding a toddler can be even harder ..
1 year s my goal but not sure will reach that
Never 🤣 when my son decides
@Louma definitely harder, the roughness, pain, biting, sucking like crazy, pulling, slapping, angles, stretching, all of it 😅
I was always planning on only breastfeeding till my LO is 6 months, but at 5 months when we tried to start the transition to formula he surprised as with total bottle refusal 😅 after month and a half of trying, We have full shelf of different brand bottles and assortment of different teat sizes. So we gave up and we are hoping that once he starts the nursery in 3 months we will try again this time with help from nursery 🫣 Just to be clear Starving him in order to force him into bottle drinking is not an option for us.
