I had a previous elective section due to them saying my son had a small femur (he came out fine) but they put a lot of fear in to me which made me just want to come out and I had control over it. It wasn't a great experience. He swallowed his melaconin and wasn't breathing the emergency buzzer called, I hemoraged etc. So not necessarily wanting that experience again but understand that it may go that way but no 2 births are the same I guess. Oh my gosh I'm so sorry to hear that I've never heard reasons why a small baby can't cope. That's so scary for you.. negligent care is one of my fears and just takes an off day from a staff member (i know as i worked in maternity unit before). You must have gone through a hell of a lot. Thank you for sharing and I will definitely be looking in to this further xx
Hi, I wouldn’t want to sway your decision but they also said the same with my daughter, that she had a small stomach and I needed to be induced. My induction led to a section and when she was born they didn’t even comment on her stomach, she was absolutely fine!
@Kelly it's so weird that they don't even comment on it after birth as if you've been through all of that not to confirm anything by the end! X
Were you allowed to labour before your last c section & see how the baby coped? I’ve seen barely anyone with accurate growth scans tbh lol. I’d deffo speak to another consultant and push for VBAC if you want one. Just be careful as small babies sometimes cannot cope with labour. It wasn’t known that my baby was so small, he wasn’t able to retain enough oxygen during contractions. This plus negligent care (staff misinterpreted the ctg for hours) led to my son being brain damaged. He has cerebral palsy, epilepsy, tube fed and blind. Make sure you are fully informed and ready to advocate for yourself if anything seems off during and induction xx
