sleeping

i need help asap!! so my baby has not been sleeping well at all, for the last 4-5 months but right now he’s been waking up every hour in a half, crying almost screaming sometimes. he sleeps on his stomach, even when i put him on his back he rolls immediately to his belly, and then every hour in a half he’s waking up almost like he’s in pain. i thought maybe it was just teething but now im thinking it’s stomach issues and that his belly is hurting. i’ve been cutting things from my diet since he is breastfed but i don’t know what else to do because he will not sleep. he’s fussy most of the day cause he’s so tired, the longest he will nap is an hour at most. i’ve had a consistent bedtime routine for the past few months, changing times he goes to sleep, trying to feed him more, doing exercises like bicycles, given him Tylenol, teething tablets. nothing is working and i don’t know what is the matter. im at a loss. has any other mother experienced this and if so, how did you fix it and how did it get better? i cry almost everyday cause i dont know whats wrong with my baby or how more to help him other than the things i have tried. my baby needs sleep, he’s so tired it’s so sad to see. help!!!

Cmpa? What are his poops like

My baby was the same and I breastfeed so I cut out dairy and within 6 weeks he was a different baby, happy relaxed and sleeps for longer

@Millie some of the times they’re watery, but for the past week they’ve been normal i would say. i thought maybe the issue could’ve been caffeine

@McKenna I do think fussiness and sleep disturbances is part of teething so you could be right, but my baby was so so fussy before I cut out dairy and was always wriggling around like his stomach hurt. Check with a doctor just in case but also maybe try cutting dairy too? See if it makes a difference

Worth noting if you’re cutting dairy then soya allergies go hand in hand 60% of babies have this as well as CMPA. My son’s sleep is now starting to improve after cutting both. Also the gut is the last thing to heal so if he does have an issue with allergies you might not see improvement for up to 5-6 weeks x

How old is baby?

@Natalie 8 months

@McKenna there is a sleep regression at 8 months. What is the nap routine?

Sleep regression can happen at 8 months. Any pressure on the stomach typically relieves any stomach pains. It’s why they support the use of belly bands in babies if they have any stomach issues. Your baby is overtired and when they get overtired they end up being fussier and don’t take naps.
