Sleeping on a different floor

My sister in law lives in a town house, they’ve always been on a different floor to their kids once they were older than 6 months. Monitors mean you’re no less in the know if they’re up! Also if little one will be 3 by the time it happens they’ll be shouting, you won’t miss it if they’re need you. If you really think about it, it’s what a 10-15 second delay going up or down a staircase x
We still use a monitor aswell, and would continue to, especially if we were on a different floor. We have been working really hard on keeping him in his own bed recently, even if that means one of us sleeping on the floor next to him, and I am concerned he would fell more vulnerable or alone on a different floor. Totally over thinking it as usual I'm sure 🙃 the townhouse didn't even cross my mind, but of course that would of been the case when we were looking at that type of house aswell. We are having a loft conversion now actually! I have no issue with it as LG ends up in bed with us most nights anyway and we still have the monitor so it won’t be hard to pop down 🤣
