A handheld fan, a lightweight nightie and dressing gown (one of them thin waffle ones) for me. For baby I packed short sleeve vests and long sleeved baby grows which were fine even though it was warm. I had my baby on the 7th Aug and it was so hot on the ward even though it wasn't particularly hot outside. For clothes I packed cycling shorts and t shirts
It wasn’t too bad last August from what I remember although I gave birth on 21st so it was cooler and actually rained on my way home lol! But still just took nighties, a light gown, leggings and tops. Baby will be absolutely fine in just vests and babygrows with blanket over still for way home x
Great date! That's my little one's birthday ❤️ Pack some strappy nighties, a loose dress, spritz, baby wipes (good for both of you!), flip flops for the shower / ward, full length baby grows, vests and hats (they can't regulate their own temperature), nappies etc, a hand held fan and a water bottle with a straw. Good luck!
It was SO hot in hospital but I took a pram fan which I could wrap around the hospital bed and it was a god send!!! A light dressing gown was really helpful, buttoned night dresses for feeding and i took loose maxi dresses to wear for when i got dressed/if we had visitors & i wore flip flops everywhere. Lucozade sport & lots of snacks. As everyone else has said for baby :)
Peri wash bottle!
Had my baby 19th August, dressed in short sleeve vest and sleep suits we was in for a week and light weight pjs for me with a neck fan because wards can be warm and post partum sweats are real! Really don’t over think august baby still needs to be layered. Bit more because they can’t regulate. We left at 1am and she had a vest sleep suit hat and blanket
Congratulations! My daughter was born on the 13th :) and yes it was very hot that week 😂 handheld fan, a cool mist spray for your face, big water bottle, light weight pyjamas, face wipes to help you feel fresh. Tbh I don’t think I really noticed how hot it was at the time , but my husband did! So if you have a birth partner, make sure they pack accordingly too! Baby will still need layers so short sleeve vest, sleep suit, hat, blanket! Xx
I had my daughter 20th August and although the ward is really hot all year round to keep the babies warm, it wasn’t particularly warm weather. I bought quite a few short sleeve rompers for baby (expecting it to be warm in August!) and she never wore any of them. She was dressed in a vest and long sleeve baby grow all the time and then 1.0 tog love to dream swaddle at night. I wore long sleeve nighties and pyjamas. I did have a hand held fan for when in the hospital which I would definitely recommend getting x
I had my daughter last August and it was very warm in the hospital. I was in a gown most of the time and when I did get dressed I just wore leggings and a vest top. Baby was just in her nappy and we used a blanket. Got her properly dressed when we left, in a vest and sleepsuit. I think she might have a cardigan too but we left hospital at 10.30 pm
