My little boy still dosnt say many words and nursery are concerned. They did a welcomm assesment and he is level 1 when he should be level 3. The nursery will repeat in 3 months and if he is still behind they will refer him to speak and language. My son can communicate his wants or needs, by pulling us with him, pointing, banging in cupboards etc, his understanding is amazing, its just that he can't use his words very well yet. The nursery does believe when he moves to the toddler room in May that his speach should improve as this is common apparently. If your concerned then definatly push for support x
Same with my little boy he’s 22 months and has handful of things he says , otherwise physically movement wise he’s great and knows songs too and understands very well. I was 3 years old when I started to speak so I don’t think it should be a massive concern , each child is different. 💕
✋🏻 Milo’s non-verbal, he doesn’t point and very rarely waves . He literally cannot communicate but he’s very clever in every other way ahead in basically every area for his age . Nursery put Milo into the preschool playground during playtimes because neither the 18-24 or 2-3 play areas are suitable for him but when it comes to communication no one has a clue what he wants he just moans crys and headbutts things . Speak to someone if you’re concerned! Milo’s under a development specialist and SALT because of his lake of speech and communication
