Not sure the situation if you give your son bottles yet or already have but you could give him half breastmilk half while milk to transition, I know it’s not the same thing but I did that with my son with formula. Hope it helps if not disregard this.
This is just from personal experience (I still BF once a day after nap because I missed it when I started weaning) However, he now doesn’t BF at all throughout the day. I started with taking away bf during the day, that meant a lot of keeping him busy. Outside time, library, anything that kept him occupied. If I noticed he started grabbing at me I would say all done and offer water/snack. Then I started removing his BF after dinner by giving him whole milk during wind down as dad and I had our own “milk” (usually water 🤣) the hardest one was our early morning one when he woke up. But I would again offer whole milk and say all done to him lifting my shirt. However, I did stop BF to sleep a while back by sleep training and not BF within 30 mins of bedtime or nap. So that may be where you start. It’s a big transition so give yourself and baby grace during this time 💙
Following. It’s hard 😅
It’s so hard. My LO comfort feeds at night and I give in because I’m tired and she won’t stop crying unless I give it to her.
Following! It’s extremely difficult! My daughter was born on 12/27/23 and has always been exclusively breastfed because she’s never liked any formula, tried several different brands, now she doesn’t want to the whole milk either, so I’m trying to start weaning her off but I have no idea how to start.
I don’t have an answer for you but I am curious. How do you keep your supply for so long. My supply just stopped at 4mo with my first and 8mo with my second
@Maddy Jaffie im still EBF , pumping works to keep the supply
@ Maddy Jaffie I’ve been feeding her on demand and I usually make porridge with oats at least twice a week. I use to pump when she was a newborn but she never liked to take the milk from a bottle so I stopped pumping.
Following. My son was born 12.30.23 and I’m so done with breast feeding
