@Alex when do you recommend i quit? i’ve heard you can go into labor really at any point after 30 weeks
I would stop tbh. I heard baby's first poop can be drug tested and it can show thc even if you did stop now.
I had similar issues with eating, I wasn't tested and to my knowledge neither was baby
i stopped at 34 weeks bc i wasn’t having any labor signs what so ever but i suggest 24/25 weeks just to be safe!
i did the same for both pregnancies, my doctor told me i had to stop third trimester to assure i pass the last drug test. i’m in NV but that’s how they do it out here.
Tbh it’s def recommended to stop before third trimester in case baby is tested, I also garden occasionally for pain n appetite with approval from my doctor. (I don’t take medications unless really needed)
@Rebecca She wants to but she cannot as it’s the only thing helping her to eat. She tried other things but they’re not working.
Can you not consent to being drug tested? I’m from the UK and they cannot drug test us without consent .
@Chloe i definitely understand that but if she's worried about being reported and drug tested she doesn't have much of a choice. In the US they can drug test baby without permission. Most of the time you won't even know they did until a social worker shows up. My friend had cps called on her twice after delivery because of thc found in the baby. All they did was a home check but still.
i understand where you’re coming from i did the same i stopped smoking at 17 weeks and both me and my son was clean & i live in a legal state so they do check ! not tryna scare you but i would stop now just to be safe congrats mama it’s almost over !
@vanna some people say to quit before third trimester, which do you recommend?
i think it’s safe to quit soon very soon, just so you have nothing to worry about when it’s time for you to have your baby ! it’s one less of a stressor right now your good because beans meconium (first poop) just started to form and that’s how they test the baby but do whatever is best for you and your baby always
Depending on where you are at in NC, I smoked during my entire pregnancy and I live in Greensboro NC. I was just understanding with them about the drug test because they had asked if I knew that she had thc in her system and I told them yes, I broke down explaining to the social workers there that I was throwing up constantly and couldn’t keep anything down for the life of me and if I didn’t smoke to be able to eat my baby wasn’t going to be able to get anything. I was worried about CPS coming to my house, lo and behold the social worker lady was pregnant herself and CPS never came to my house. Just be extremely understanding with them and tell them your situation.
@Mykala I’ll be around charlotte nc. but i’m worried if im honest with them that they’ll just try and drug test me at birth and send cps.

I'm in oregon and I smoked untill i gave birth. I didn't smoke alpt or everyday but my doctor was aware that I smoked for my back pains before the pregnancy and how bad the pains get. So he said just do cbd if I need to. I would definitely do some research on your state on if they test or not. If you feel comfortable talk to your doctor about it. If you have any friends or family that have been in this scenario ask them. If you are that worried try alternatives and see if maybe there's something the doctor can prescribe.
Well they have to test the babies placenta and that tells them everything they really need to know if they find thc in it, I think they also take some of babies poop but I can’t remember, they have to test them regardless especially in NC. They will have social workers talk to you but if you just tell them that you only smoked because you couldn’t keep anything down they should be understanding with you. I told them that I didn’t smoke at all until I got pregnant and was having the issues I was having and I told them it helped me tremendously than the nausea and vomiting meds they have given me because that didn’t work at all on what they gave me.
I'm in Winston Salem NC and wasn't tested on any of my 3 but I've heard of them testing most everyone around this area
i would recommend weaning off of it and be completely stopped at least a month/month inna half before delivery just to make sure it isn’t in yours or babies system.
