That looks painful! I mean personally, I think they look too tight, but I’m not a doctor 🫤
Mine were tight but they need to be to prevent a clot, improve blood flow and stop the swelling. Are you walking around and staying mobile? Mobility is key to helping all those things and will really improve swelling xx
@Brittany I know it's so painful it's been the worst part of the whole section. But when I take them off my ankles are just swelling. I've been told these are my size by various midwives but I know they aren't I had bigger last time when I was 4 stone lighter
@Sarah were they tight at the top as well? It's really stressing me out because it's stopping my circulation. I'm trying my best but not had very much sleep day 4 baby. I just need some advice off people. I feel like I was more active last time they weren't like this xx
@Sarah but because they so swollen they seem so heavy 😔
They were pretty tight but they loosened as my swelling went down and my swelling improved as I moved. The moving around encourages blood flow and brings the swelling down a lot faster, so if you can it might quicken the process. I remember walking circles around the kitchen table drinking a cup of tea in the night ☺️They measure the things on your calf measurement so it’s not a fit all over sadly but it’s got to be tight and feel some pressure. Stopping circulation though is too tight, can you fold them down under your kneecap a bit more? Are you having anti clot injections too? Xx
Ahh ok. I mean, if they’re telling you they’re fitting properly I would just trust the process! Hope you get relief soon! I had c sections as well but only had to wear these in the hospital, not at home. So I truly don’t even really remember what they looked like since my legs were under blankets for majority of the time 😂
@Brittany that's what my partner said i was having a mental breakdown in the hospital and was like they are professionals. But you know your body ypu know when something just don't feel right. Thanks chick. Your so lucky girl. That was like me the first time. I looked at my legs for the first time and they were so swollen 😩
Mine were the same, it was so painful! The swelling went down and the fit improved after a couple of days x
They usually measure your ankle with a tape measure then use your measurement to give you the correct size stockings. Did they do that?
That's how mine looked after. I did talk with my doctor before leaving the hospital and they said it was normal. Of course it doesn't feel normal to walk around looking like the Michelin guy. Move around as you can and warm showers will help. Also massage your legs to help with blood flow as well as keeping your legs elevated.
It’s just swelling post op, mine was sooo bad in the first few days. Ask them if you need a bigger size for the time being. Once my legs went down they gave me smaller x
