Breastfeeding bottles

@Brenda with breastfeeding? I just don't know if he'll take it when the teats are small Also hesitant with all the parts to clean 😂

Will he take it from a cup or bottle with a straw? My first wouldnt take a bottle either so after she started weaning and using a water bottle I just gave her expressed milk in that.

I used MAM when I formulated fed my first (wasn’t BF) and found them easy to clean and sterilise. My now BF baby wouldn’t even let the MAM in his mouth.. the did at least put the boots 99p one in his mouth a few times but that’s as far as we have got 🙃

We use Mam bottles with size 0 teat for our little one. She was EBF for the first 4 months, then we introduced a bottle a day to start getting her used to them because I went back to work at 6 months. She now takes 3 bottles during the day and then BF morning and night. Because the bottom comes off the Mam bottles I actually find them really easy to clean. Yes there are more parts than some bottles, but each part is easy to clean.

We did struggle with the bottles at first, she was very resistant to change. The bits that helped us were - experimenting with different teat sizes to match your flow - making sure the milk was warmed to body temperature - feeding her in a side lying position, as if she was BF but facing away (she'll not take the bottle in any position but this was the only way for about a month) She also would only take pumped milk for a few months. Only now have we gradually been able to get her to take a bit of formula by mixing it with pumped milk.

We struggled with bottles so much, we’re not even attempting it now. We’re using an open cup. It’s slow and can be messy but less stressful than battling with the bottle, for everyone involved! 😆 x

I use mam but i heard Nuk is extremely good

I have NUK , my baby is 3 weeks old and takes from the breast and expressed ( haven’t quite mastered BF in public yet, and partner does one night feed) I believe NUK are closest to the nipple. I bought MAM to bud haven’t used them
