Still waking 10 times a night

I’m really struggling I can’t afford a sleep specialist even tho I bloody wish I could She wakes 10 times minimum a night I’m still living on 2/3 hours sleep a day I just feel like I’m being tortured She’s up at 5:30/6 each day doesn’t matter how late she does to bed I’m really struggling I can’t say it hasn’t made me very depressed/ suicidal as I feel like I could collapse ( not even being dramatic) all day as I’m absolutely exhausted I’m thinking how will I cope when she walks and is a toddler with such little sleep she has a lot of energy now and it’s exhausting For reference she has 2 10-40 minute naps a day or sometimes none I feel like I’m going insane I swear everytime I just fall asleep I’m woke to constant crying it’s torture now I really would rather be dead sometimes as dramatic as that sounds

She’s 10 nearly 11 months

Heyy I’m so sorry that your going through this. Sadly some babies are just so full off beans that they don’t really need the sleep to recharge. I established day and night quite early on with my baby but she is a mega routine baby and is a nightmare when the routine is broken!! Do you have anyone that could watch her overnight so you could get some sleep?? You can’t keep going this way as it isn’t safe for you or the wee one x

@Rhiannon yeah… that’s my struggle. My son was a great sleeper. My daughter… well she needs like 5 min of sleep and is fine. She stopped taking two naps around like 9 months we contact napped until like 7 months and those naps where like 20-30 min. And now she’s 18 months. Sometimes she has good naps and sometimes it’s 40 min to an hour. And still wakes up multiple times at night. I would try to get into a good routine and make sure they are very full before going to sleep. And also just help teach them to self soothe without the boob or a bottle so they can try to go back to sleep on their own

My son is a terrible sleeper, it’s like he just doesn’t need it! The only thing I’ve found that helps (and it’s hit and miss) is magnesium spray before bed and iron supplements. I’m anemic so it’s not a stretch to assume he has low iron (obviously they’re supplements marketed for babies/kids, not an adult dose) and magnesium I thought was a load of hippie nonsense tbh but there is a lot of data to suggest it’s essential for adult sleep… absorbs well through skin and is harmless so worth a try! I hope this helps, sleep deprivation is brutal but we now get 4-6 hours of uninterrupted sleep from him sometimes. Believe me I’ve tried every variation of a routine, some babies are just demonic🙃

My son is 20 months and has only just started only having 1 wake. It’s brutal & relentless and only people who have/are experiencing it can understand. Please know it’s nothing you’re doing & it’s not your fault… some children (like some adults!) are just not great sleepers! I say this because I’ve blamed myself for nearly 2 years 🫠

Message me, I use a sleep consultant. I know you're incognito but if I can help I'll try. No judgement, I was in a similar position xx
