My little boy babbles and we occasionally get “dada” and “mum” but most of the time it’s not in context. I’m sure they’re all just focusing on different things and the speech will come eventually. Hard sometimes though when you see other little ones with 5-10 words! Does he understand a lot of what you say to him? X
@Bryn does your hv seem concerned? mines doesn’t say a signal word😅😅 i’d like him into some sort of speech therapy but seems they can’t do that x
@Charlotte he literally doesn’t say a thing the only thing i get is “yayaya” type of noises. he’s very on the go and won’t even sit still enough to watch me saying things to him. he’s very definitely understands some things! soon as i say some things he smiles and looks over but if i said give me a ball for example, im 99% sure id not even get acknowledged. they’ve referred him to get his hearing checked incase but it’s a huge wait 🥲
My LB is the same, no words yet and doesn’t point or wave either.
My little girl is exact same, no words, babbles but no mama/dada etc. certainly nothing with context. She also doesn’t point or wave. But she’s extremely active and always walking/running about! It’s hard to get her to be still long enough to practice speaking or do games to encourage speech. HV just keeps telling me to wait until 18 months. You haven’t done anything wrong, every baby is different and will develop in their own time xx
His Ped doesn’t seem concerned necessarily but I asked him to put in for early intervention just in case since the waitlist is a couple months long. He said he thinks he will pick it up in the next month or so.
My Lb is the same, he babbles a lot and constant dada but not in context, it’s hard not to worry but I do think think he’ll get there. He’s not walking yet either so maybe he’s focusing on learning that first
Same boat with my son. He only says ball and he doesn’t point or wave.
