Feeding baby at night

Baby is coming up for 4 months and once he gets there I’d like to start encouraging him to reduce the amount of night feeds. At the moment he is going around 3-4 hours at night before wanting a feed and around 2-3 hours during the day. He has been formula fed for the last 2 months as I wasn’t producing enough breast milk. He has the recommended amount of formula but rather than the estimated 6 bottles he is having smaller amounts over 8 bottles each day/night. Any tips or tricks to help him sleep longer at night without getting hungry or distressed

It’s honestly still really protective against SIDS for babies to wake and feed overnight at that age.

I say keep an open mind. There is often a 4 month sleep regression, so you may want longer sleep periods, but your baby may have other ideas. Have the bigger bottles ready, sure, but there's no need to drive yourself crazy trying to fight nature. Keep the room extra dark so they don't wake with the sun's first light. If you have one child, try to nap with them in the afternoon to catch up on your zzz's. 😴

My little boy dropped his own night feed around 7.5 months when he started eating more solids. I wouldn't rush it he'll most likely do it on his own and it's perfectly normal at that age
