Even though we have a spare room, my partner still sleeps with me and wakes up to help when I need to feed the baby or change nappies.
My partner moved when I was 4 months pregnant because my insomnia was so bad and I tossed and turned and peed 10 thousand times. Once baby came we had to do combo feeding and we would take shifts with her so he continued to sleep in the other room so we'd both get full undisturbed sleeps. Now she sleeps through the night and he's moved back in but I highly recommend the separate sleep arrangements if you have the ability! More about ensuring everyone gets the most sleep.
We slept separately for the first week as she wouldn’t sleep anywhere but on us so we were doing shifts but now we all sleep together in the same room, she often has to co sleep with us still but my husband stays in the bed and I just have baby between me and the next to me! He does get woken up but as I’m breastfeeding he just incoherently asks if I want help and then goes back to sleep when I say no haha
My partner started sleeping on the sofa around 8 weeks pp because he just wasn’t getting enough sleep in the bed with how bad LO sleeps. He’s still doing that 3.5 months later
We always shared a bed. No issues. He got used to it. He helped out. He wore AirPods and an eye mask.
We sleep in the same room but my partner can sleep through me literally screaming in his ear. 😂 been tempted to ask him to move into the spare a couple of times tho h as his snoring is horrendous!
as long as your sofa is comfy, i don’t see the issue!
My partner never moved rooms. He got used to the baby waking but as I EBF and opted to do all nappy changes he knew to just go back to sleep if he woke up and I’d ask for help if I needed it.
