Toy/activity ideas

Best toys and/or activities for a 5 to 6 month old? I feel like my baby and I are both starting to get bored of the things we currently currently have haha

Do you have a water play mat? Or bath toys! A lot of them baby can use outside the bath. If you have the funds there are some pretty cool Montessori sensory boxes you can get. 🤔 anything that makes noise, is colorful, and can go into their mouth is perfect lol I mix it up sometimes and give mine random stuff like a wooden spatula while I’m in the kitchen. I also get some cheap suction cup toys I can put on the high chair table to mix it up from the walker I have. So we do sitting activities, tummy time, hanging stuff for reaching while on their back, and I just keep rotating through.

We’re struggling a bit too. He just doesn’t like playing much some days and just wants to be held. We just incorporated some cushions and whatnot for him to climb on and explore. And put toys on it and some on the ground. And it’s making the same toys slightly more interesting now for him. But yeah we have a kick and play piano that has a watch and listen mode. It’s not interactive but he loves watching it. We call it his TV lol. He’s way more entertained watching it and when he’s bored, he plays with his other toys better than when it’s not on. We tilt it now, and will also switch between the interactive mode so he can push the buttons.

When I’m doing stuff in the kitchen like dishes and stuff I put my son in the high chair and put random stuff in front of him. Like the cooking spoons or socks or something that crinkles. Literally anything random that isn’t harmful for them. Keeps them entertained while being able to still see you.
