It is stressful as there is no manual but honestly, just listen to baby. I honestly csn say with my first that by 19 weeks I wasn't tracking how long my daughter fed, how much she fed or how many bottles. I just let her tell me when she was hungry. She was sleeping through the night from around 3 to 4 months with the occasional feed if we had a growth spurt. Babies 2ont let themselves starve, nor can they over eat. As long as she's gaining weight and appears to be her usual self then you're good. If she was unhappy and there was a change to her behaviour then I would say there is concern. Also contact your HV and ask about your concerns and worries! They are there to help! You've got this momma x
Thanks both of you. My other half has told me off tonight because he says I’m spiralling 🤦♀️
Being a mam is the most difficult job as you can't help but think the worst and run with it. My daughter is nearly 5 years old now and I still have moments where I feel completely out of my depth. Trust yourself more. I was so hard on myself and I can look back now and know that I was driving myself crazy. It's a normal reaction from a good mam. Make sure you breath
Gaining wait and wet nappies are good signs. X
My youngest daughter went the longest time only drinking 24 Oz of formula she would have 6 bottles of 4oz during the day and wouldn't drink more it slowly increased a little and went to around 5oz bottles just before she hit 6months. As long as they're happy having lots of wet nappies and don't drop centiles then it's all good x
We’ve had this for months only drinking 650-800ml a day and I still get wound up thinking it’s not enough but can’t force her to drink. The last weigh she dropped slightly off her line which made me worse. Hoping todays weigh is better as we’re now on solids
@Lana it’s horrible isn’t it? Sometimes I wake up in the night and panic thinking I should wake her up and see if she will have an extra bottle
First of all you need to take a breath and calm down. If she is gaining weight then that is a good sign. I had lots of worries when my daughter was a baby. You health visitor will be able to advise you best on the dehydration question as I believe it's easy to check for. Remember no question is silly. You are wanting the beat for your baby and everyone should know that
