What did you transition to after the crib!?

My son's figured out how to climb out of his crib! Yeah, it's on the lowest setting... Wondering what you all did after the crib?

For me, pack n play to a floor + regular toddler bed.

Single mattress on the floor lol. He’s 5 and that’s still what it is 😂 no frame. Can’t be bothered. 💁🏻‍♀️

Although w my crib I’m able to take the sides off and put a railing there. But I just got a bigger mattress and got rid of the cot altogether but that is an option

We haven’t gotten there yet since we use woolino sack and he can’t get out of the crib while wearing it, but he occasionally wants to fall asleep on his play couch and be a “big boy” so when it’s time we’ll go with a floor bed since he kind of tested it out.

It was my bed… to transition I got him a big boy bed with a slide and he loved it … then a bed frame shaped like a house very durable he use to climb on the roof and all and didn’t ever break or get hurt. My suggestion If a bed frame make sure it is durable I mean not your typical or else from the jumping and stuff it will break. Put box spring and bed in floor or solid wood bed frame

Mine climbed out of his crib when he had just turned two. We got him a twin bed the next day, and he’s been in it ever since.

@Kayla Bandy I’m not sure those are rated properly for safety.

The queen bed in the spare room. Don't have the space or money to store it and get a smaller bed so we adapted to the one we have

hmm, we just switched to a toddler bed and made sure to baby-proof the room like crazy! I actually checked the 'Heal Baby Care App' for this and here's what it says: "It's great that your son is exploring, but it can be concerning when they climb out of the crib! Many parents transition to a toddler bed or a mattress on the floor for safety. You might also consider using a sleep sack to limit his ability to climb. How old is your son, and have you noticed any signs that he’s ready for a bed transition?

@Susan he's 18 months. What signs should I look for?

I switched both of mine to twin beds around 14 months. I put the frame up against a wall with a rolled up blanket to fill the grab there and put a pool noodle under the fitted sheet on the other side. Kept them from easily rolling out. They choose to sleep on the floor the first night or two and then got the idea that the bed was comfier. Just make sure outlets are covered and heavy items have anti tip kits securing them.
