C-Section scar - KELOID?!

Long story short, I had an emergency c-section and had no idea about aftercare and was never given any advice around looking after my scar either. I’m 18 months post c-section and my scar has turned into a keloid. Anyone had anything similar and know how to sort this out! I hate it so much and just want it gone😭

Hi mama! I’m currently going through the same thing 19 months post c-section. I’m on my third round of steroid shots and it’s gone down so much. Certain spots are still raised, bumpy, red and irritated but it’s gone down so much - especially the biggest bump. You’ll need to go to dermatologist to get steroid shots. My dermatologist said it could take a couple of months or a year to go down with the shots. Hope this helps!

I noticed that my scar had thick areas, kind of clumpy, months after section. Now it's 2 years later, it seems almost all very smooth. I didn't do any kind of care. A few times, I put castor oil. I took serraseptase - nattokinase once, but I don't know if it did anything. Try gently massaging it with some oil. I think it takes some time to smooth out.

It will disappear within time, I'm 27 months and still have a purple bumpy scar, I had an op on my leg many years ago and that took about 3 4 years to disappear

@Khawla hi!! Thank you for ur advice! Did you pay for your steroid shots?

@Eva did you massage with the castor oil?

I got a referral from my doctor to go to the dermatologist so my insurance covered the treatment

I applied castor oil and kind of rubbed it in. Little massage. Less than a minute.
