Contraception options

I am currently pregnant with my second child and we have both decided this will be the final child. I suffer from PCOS but haven’t had any struggles with infertility. I don’t get periods normally but can still conceive. I was hoping to get my tubes tied or removed but they won’t even consider it due to my age. Which in some respect I understand but realistically in this day and age I wouldn’t want anymore children and would rather not have the option (I personally can’t abort and would end up keeping the child) I also suffer with heavy and excruciating painful periods when I have them sometimes bleeding for months and stops me getting out of bed. I’ve been on both pills, patches, depo injections, the ring and using condoms at the same time I find I just bleed constantly and have very painful cramps. What are people’s experiences with different contraception methods?

The copper coil, it lasts 10 years and doesn’t release any hormones, or potentially see if your partner is would get the snip, so you don’t have to go through anything else mentally and physically damaging. Also with pcos diet and excercise helps a lot with managing the pain symptoms caused x

@Aliscia thank you, I try my best diet wise and exercise and keeping the weight off. Before pregnancy because of my symptoms and that I lost weight rather than gained it they never suggest PCOS and was looking into endo but during my pregnancy when I put on weight they then told me I had PCOS. It’s been fighting the doctors to listen for years even going private. Honestly I would want it all out at this stage. Having been in the army, eating healthy, exercising and living a routine life I was passing out and losing weight they also diagnosed me with IBS which I’ve told them is linked to my periods.

Pcos symptoms can be so different for everyone if you still haven’t found coping mechanisms and strategies that help you try find a specialist that can go through your symptoms and suggest differnt options. But with pcos I’d still reccomend the copper coil rather than anything else so it’s doesn’t fluctuate your hormones any further when your trying to handle them the best you can x

Mirena coil stopped my continuous periods unlike everything else I tried, didn't notice the hormone element of it

Copper coil/ Mirena coil. Or him to have the snip

The reason I’m here today on this lovely app is due to the failure of the copper coil💓. I know it is a very rare situation. I will say it was wonderful. But not sure if it’s compatible for everyone. X
