Toddlar no longer sleeping at night

Wondered if anyone else has gone through similar. My 2yr 8mo old has pretty much always slept through the night. But recently her sleep has gotten SO much worse. She does have a lot of change coming, she has recently moved into her big girl bed, and the first week she didn't get up but now I think shes realized she can get out on her own. She is good as gold going to bed. Likes being in her big girl bed. But now she's started waking up in the night which she never really did before. She will turn her lights on, or play with her yoto player. She also has a baby brother arriving in a month. Is this something that will pass with time? I'm just nervous coz of her coming in our room at night when I've just got the new baby down 😬😬

Oh I'm glad it ain't just us. Our all night sleeper transitioned into his big bed in January. After a week of adjusting we thought we was onto a win! As he continued to sleep all night. As of the past 2 months, were having him wake up multiple times and coming into our room. Also even getting him down for the night is challenging as he just gets out of bed multiple times. His bed time is between 7.30/8pm. And he was getting out last night for over an hour. To the point where I gave up, allowed him downstairs and eventually took him back up at 10pm and he finally fell asleep. I wished I had advice for you but I don't. Just know your not alone. I'm just grateful my 9 month old is now sleeping through the night as the sleep deprivation of both waking up was honestly the hardest thing I've done xx

We’ve had this for the past few weeks but he’s been in his big boy bed since September, he is fine sleeping all through the night but it’s actually getting him to sleep that’s the issue, we take him up at normal time (7:30) and he will scream and cry until 9pm and then fall asleep 😭 So we decided to cut his naps completely and since then he now sleeps 7:30pm-7:30am consistently and takes about 10 minutes to actually fall asleep and there’s no tears 🙌🏼 we thought it was abit early but I checked with the health visitor at his 2 year check up last week and she agreed he was showing signs of not needing his nap, is there a way you could speak to your health visitor to see if this is your solution too? Xx

@Holly-anne mine already doesn't nap. And luckily she does stay in her bed when going to sleep. Going to sleep is the easy bit. It's just she now wakes in the night and rather than going back to sleep gets up and comes to see us.
